GOVERNMENT
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township fiscal officer, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the fiscal officer-ship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees. |

COMMUNITY PLANNING
The community of Boardman, Ohio is always expanding. It seems out of the ordinary to not have some sort of construction going on in some part of the community at all times. Route 224, the township's major roadway is filled with restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping centers. Covelli Enterprises just finished a new Drive-thru Panera Bread in September of 2014 on Market Street. A new maternity ward was also recently added to the Boardman campus of St. Elizabeth Health Center. All in all Boardman will continue to be an ever-changing community available at the citizens fingertips.

STRENGTHS
Boardman's board of trustees is a way to make sure the people's voices are heard in the community. Not just one person has the power in the government is that is important to maintain community involvement in decision making. The Mahoning County District Board of Health, another strong attribute to the community, is very thorough with its works and offers a great deal of information for the residents of Mahoning County to be knowledgeable about public health and health opportunities available to them.
WEAKNESSES
Although the township's government is interactive with the people, since the community is always changing and developing it is projected that Boardman will start the new year in a monetary deficit. Special funding has been used to fund the community through a tax inheritance revenue however, the account has dried up in recent years. Another weakness includes the absence of diversity in political affiliation of the citizens. More than half those registered as democratic which can lead all decisions during voting season to be swayed to only one side.
